Frequently asked questions
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No. The free tools run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your file is processed on your device and never sent to Redenta or anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's network tab.
Is redaction actually permanent?
Yes. Unlike tools that just draw a black rectangle over text (which can be copied out or recovered from the file), Redact rebuilds the document as flattened images with the marks burned in — the removed content is genuinely gone from the bytes, and there is no text layer left to extract.
Does "Scrub for AI" send my text anywhere?
No. Detection and the token map that lets you restore your data both run in the tab and stay there. You copy the cleaned text into the AI yourself; the real values never leave your browser.
Do you store or ever see my documents?
No. Because the tools run locally, we never receive your files in the first place — there is no storage, no logging of content, and nothing to breach.
Is it free?
Yes — every on-device tool is free, including custom branding. A few high-fidelity conversions that need desktop-grade software run on secure servers under an optional Pro plan (coming soon); those are clearly marked.
